Knight Commander
The Tabernacle Knight Commander is a premium cigar launched by the Foundation Cigar Company, inspired by a prestigious honor given to its owner, Nicholas Melillo. The Ethiopian Crown Council bestowed upon Melillo the title of Knight Commander of the Ethiopian Star of Honor, an accolade from the Order of Knighthood established by Emperor Menelik II in 1889 for significant service to Ethiopia.
This 6 ¾ x 52 Perfecto cigar features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a San Andrés Mexican binder, and fillers from Nicaragua's Estelí and Jalapa regions. The tobaccos are meticulously aged for 15 months in cedar, showcasing expert craftsmanship.
Proceeds from the cigar sales will support Ethiopian charities, focusing on initiatives such as scholarships and church rebuilding. This aligns with Melillo’s commitment to philanthropy and his respect for Ethiopian heritage. Only 700 boxes of 12 are produced each Fall.
