The Casa Magna Maduro Toro
The Casa Magna Maduro
Toro: 6.5" x 52 RG
Factory of Production: TABADEX
Country of Origin: Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Mexican San Andrés
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, USA (Pennsylvania)
Body: Barnyard
Foot: Cocoa Powder
Cold Draw: Honey, Graham Cracker
First Third: Initial light up gives a smooth, oaky, with that barnyard on the retrohale. Flavor and strength is surprising smooth and subtle for a Maduro, but the quality is there like any other Casa Magna.
Second Third: It’s show time! The strength, punch, and flavor really develops in the second third! Flavors are rich of oak, dark chocolate, and hay. I was worried I’d be let down in the first third but now we’re in business!
Final thoughts: The Casa Magna Maduro starts off slow but comes back with a vengeance on the 2nd third to the end. Flavor, Smoke output, burn quality, and overall enjoy was great! Definitely suggest this be an end of the night smoke. The Maduro packs the most punch from a Casa Magna outside of the Liga F. Most Dominican Maduros in my opinion lack that one and done power but the Casa Magna Maduro did fit the bill.
Pairing Section:
From the Whiskey Cabinet: For this powerful Maduro wrapper I’d suggest putting out some Bottled in Bond George Dickel, the flavor profile will really come together for an enjoyable experience.
From the Fridge: Pull out an ice cold Barqs Root Beer in the Glass bottle (Makes a Difference) the rich flavor and bite with make this Maduro a great pairing
Abbina Pairing: This Casa Magna Maduro has Candlewood written all over it. The richness of the Cherry and Beet Paired with the strong flavorful Maduro is a pairing that can’t be beat.
