The Davidoff Colorado Claro Special T

The Davidoff Colorado Claro Special T

The “Special T” vitola is one of my favorites from Davidoff, and was formerly reserved for the Anniversario blend. The Special T features a traditional torpedo style head, and tapers slightly outwards in ring gauge- from 46 RG at the head to 52 RG at the foot.  This provides somewhat guaranteed flavor evolution, as well as a slowing in burn rate of the cigar as it goes along.

The Colorado Claro blend would land in the medium body category for me. It features 3 different aged filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, a hybrid seed Dominican binder, and a sun grown Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Being sun grown, the Connecticut wrapper has a beautiful reddish- brown color which provides a slightly different experienced that Connecticut wrappers of the shade grown variety. Notes of toasted nuts, creaminess, light pepper, and the mustiness typical of a Connecticut wrapper(which I love) are observed throughout the 1 hour smoke time.

The Colorado Claro Special T has been my favorite Davidoff I’ve had the pleasure of trying in 2022. With that being said, I have tried some more expensive Davidoff cigars that this blend outperforms. Even though Davidoff prices carry a premium, in my opinion the cigars are premium as well. I would highly recommend trying the Colorado Claro blend in any vitola!
